Zegna's Winter 2024 Collection, themed "In the Oasi of Cashmere," was inspired by the creative hub of Oasi Zegna. Here, fabric, form, and function converged in an exploration of beauty, excellence, and environmental responsibility, guided by the artistic prowess of Alessandro Sartori. His vision breathed life into a dynamic collection that reshaped matter and redefined the very essence of shapes.
Centre stage at Zegna's Fall/Winter 2024 runway in Milan's Allianz Mico was a striking heap of cashmere flakes. This vibrant mound, bathed in the iconic vicuna hue, mirrored the blending rooms of Oasi Zegna's headquarters in Trivero, Italy, encapsulating the essence of the brand's sala delle mischie.

Winter 2024 Fashion Show

Cashmere took the spotlight, celebrated for its versatility, preciousness, and traceability. The collection introduced a structural reimagining of wardrobe staples, neatly categorized into tops, bottoms, underpinnings, and accessories. Wearers were encouraged to layer and combine elements freely, fostering a sense of individual expression. Shapes underwent a seamless evolution, with coats, blousons, vests, and trousers embracing generous volumes, practical features, and diverse body postures. Knitted tops and bottoms not only exuded presence but also delivered exceptional performance. The colour palette, boasting harmonious blends and vibrant mixes, added depth to the ensemble, while textures, ranging from multi-melange Shetland/cashmere to cashmere-backed plong&egrave; leather, introduced a tactile dimension.
Collaborating with House friend James Blake, Sartori orchestrated a spectacular soundtrack that echoed through the cosmic venue. Blake's poignant lyrics, drawn from his discography &ndash; &ldquo;In the end, it was friends that broke my heart&rdquo; &ndash; resonated with the motifs and thoughts of the collection, as detailed in the show notes. The result was a catastrophically beautiful harmony that enhanced the overall sensory experience of the showcase.
