Fashion loves a dramatic turning point. A reinvention. A shock to the system. However, Giorgio Armani has never worked that way and for Autumn/Winter 2026, the house proved that sometimes the most powerful statement is restraint. Presented at Milan Fashion Week, this collection marked a deeply emotional milestone: the first men&rsquo;s show since the passing of Giorgio Armani himself, five months ago. Rather than attempting to rewrite history, the collection helmed by longtime confidant and head of menswear Leo Dell&rsquo;Orco felt like an act of careful stewardship. Not a revolution, but a respectful handover. The show unfolded in the most fitting of locations: Armani&rsquo;s private residence in Milan. Intimate, elegant, and unflashy, the setting immediately set the tone. This wasn&rsquo;t about spectacle. It was about presence.

The opening looks stayed close to the house&rsquo;s DNA. Soft tailoring in signature greige and charcoal eased down the runway, anchored by unvented jackets that preserved Armani&rsquo;s iconic liquid flow. Look closer, and you&rsquo;d notice Dell&rsquo;Orco&rsquo;s gentle recalibration: proportions were subtly refined, skimming the frame rather than enveloping it. Less drape, more dialogue between cloth and form. Familiar Armani motifs surfaced throughout, but never felt copy-pasted. A recurring diamond pattern appeared across quilted bags and work satchels, grounding the looks in utility while adding texture and quiet visual interest.Outerwear carried much of the emotional weight. Long, double-breasted coats in velvet, suede shearling, and printed fur delivered a sense of occasion without excess. Then came the shift. In a move that signalled confidence rather than caution, Dell&rsquo;Orco introduced a second chapter inspired by alpine dressing, pulling from the Neve line. Suddenly, the palette expanded. Outerwear emerged in unexpected shades of purple and iridescent green, colours that shimmered softly rather than shouted. It was a notable departure from tradition, but handled with Armani&rsquo;s trademark discretion.

One of the collection&rsquo;s most interesting moments came via a collaboration with ALANUI. The result? Fringed, striped wrap cardigans designed for both men and women, injecting warmth, craft, and a hint of bohemian ease into the lineup. It was a reminder that Armani elegance has always had room for softness.
Tailoring, of course, remained central. Standout pieces included semi-sheer velvet suits, crushed to reflect light in irregular, corduroy-like stripes.&nbsp;The finale brought it all back to centre. Coed black-and-white evening looks closed the show, striking a careful balance between innovation and restraint. Nothing felt forced. Nothing tried too hard.
