Cooper Koch is the star of the moment, and Saint Laurent knows it
The project features seven short films based on French novelist Marcel Proust’s “In Search of Lost Time”.
2024 is shaping up to be a banner year for Cooper Koch. Fresh off a Golden Globe nomination for his captivating performance in Netflix’s Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story, the American actor is stepping into a new spotlight—this time, in the rarefied world of high fashion. Koch headlines Saint Laurent’s latest cinematic campaign, As Time Goes By, proving his star power knows no bounds.
The campaign, helmed by visionary director Nadia Lee Cohen and Saint Laurent’s creative mastermind Anthony Vaccarello, draws inspiration from one of literature’s great masterpieces: Marcel Proust’s In Search of Lost Time. It’s a nod to the brand’s founder, Yves Saint Laurent, who held the book close to his heart. Through seven gorgeously crafted vignettes, the campaign channels Proustian themes of nostalgia, longing, and the complexity of the human condition. Koch shines in the “Togetherness” chapter, an ode to the intimate connections that shape us.
Joining Koch in this ambitious project is a stellar cast that spans generations and genres: icons like Charlotte Gainsbourg, John Waters, and Chloë Sevigny share the screen with Gen Z sensations Addison Rae, Joey King, and Travis Bennett. It’s an eclectic mix that underscores Vaccarello’s knack for blending heritage with modernity.
With the full series of shorts now streaming, it’s the perfect excuse to indulge in some holiday introspection—or just marvel at the impeccable tailoring. Koch’s rise is undeniable, and if this campaign is any indication, his ascent is only just beginning.
