One of France&rsquo;s most stylish luxury electronics brands opens in Malaysia.&nbsp;

L&rsquo;OFFICIEL Devialet stores are in Singapore, Jakarta, Thailand, and now, Malaysia. So, why Malaysia, and why now?
Jacques Demont You know, the answer is quite simple. I believe it's a fantastic&nbsp;market for us. It&rsquo;s flourishing; there&rsquo;s a lot of demand for premium technological stuff, and I&rsquo;m incredibly impressed with how fast the country is growing. &nbsp;I came here on vacation with my wife 25 years ago, and&nbsp;look at how it has developed! It is incredible. And I think the present is only the beginning.

LO Do you think Malaysians are ready for Devialet?
JD I'm certain they are. You could find our products here before the opening of this store, and the feedback has been unbelievable. Devialet creates emotional experiences. I work for this company because I&rsquo;m an extremely emotional person. I believe that sound and&nbsp;music are&nbsp;an important part&nbsp;of everyone&rsquo;s lives, regardless of where you are. To escape, to arouse an emotion,&nbsp;among other things, it&rsquo;s incredibly crucial.

LO What would you say is your objective for the brand?
JD My goal for the brand is to build an effective company in the luxury and technology sector. Additionally, I aim to convey the emotional impact that our products evoke. All first-time listeners say, &ldquo;Wow, so this is what it is all about.&rdquo; Individuals from different walks of life, from corporate CEOs to musicians, are inspired by the sound of Devialet all over the world, in China, Malaysia, Paris, Germany, Switzerland and New York.

LO What would you say is your objective for the brand?

All first-time listeners say, &ldquo;Wow, so this is what it is all about.&rdquo; Individuals from different walks of life, from corporate CEOs to musicians, are inspired by the sound of Devialet all over the world, in China, Malaysia, Paris, Germany, Switzerland and New York.

LO What&rsquo;s the brand&rsquo;s philosophy when it comes to innovation and design?
JD The idea is to reinvent Devialet on a daily basis. The point is, I mean, nothing is impossible. When I started my first week at the company, I said to my colleagues at the headquarters that I'd like to see AI integrated into our products&rsquo; software, and they said to me, "Jack, it's already the case." By the time I began consulting the engineers, we had 10&nbsp;people devoted just to artificial intelligence. Imagine a future when we can tailor the sound to your preferences using the same product and artificial intelligence.

LO How are your products different from those of your competitors?
JD I believe we&rsquo;re&nbsp;unique in our&nbsp;technology, which I enjoy repeating. [Laughs] We own 250 patents. This provides a significant advantage over our competition. As for the design of our products, our goal is to&nbsp;be&nbsp;quite distinct from our competitors, which is crucial. Following that, of course, we will soon be developing and presenting new software. We can offer&nbsp;a lot of evolution to the products through the&nbsp;software. &nbsp;I've been emphasising&nbsp;the patents because we have&nbsp;famous and experienced&nbsp;engineers in Paris. I believe they&nbsp;are our&nbsp;major differences.

LO Which is your personal favorite Devialet product?
JD This is the one. [Pointing to the Phantom] It&rsquo;s the first one I discovered, maybe eight years ago. And, for me, it's&nbsp;still in my living room; I like the design, I enjoy the sound, and it&rsquo;s&nbsp;a part of my life, you know? Right. It has travelled all over&nbsp;the world with me.

LO And how many more do you have now?
JD Currently, I have two Phantom II and a Dione in my living room, as well as a Gemini II and a Mania.&nbsp;
&nbsp;
LO This new store in Malaysia is definitely a very exciting expansion. If there&rsquo;s one thing that you want Malaysians who aren&rsquo;t familiar with the brand to know, what would that be? 
JD We want them to recognise that we are, in fact, different, and our sound is very different from the rest. And I&rsquo;d like to welcome them to the immersive room in our store so they can experience it themselves &mdash; and then we can start talking.
